She/he is responsible for managing and tracking the productivity of the account team.
It is the Billing Administrators responsibility to ensure that compliance standards are being maintained for Federal, State, and individual program billing practices.
It is imperative that the Billing administrator can analyze medical records and identify billable services, understand billing reports and how they relate to the overall practice.
Develops and implements mechanisms and controls to ensure appropriate billing payment cycles, timely billing, in accordance with established internal and third-party payer requirements that are within state and federal guidelines Qualifications Office Skills Typing Skills Knowledge of office equipment Computer and Software knowledge Organizational skills with attention to detail 2 Years' Experience in Rural Health Billing Bilingual Preferred Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Ability to use critical thinking skills.
Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures Knowledge of health care billing procedures, documentation, and standards Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures Computers skills and related software applications Strong interpersonal a communication skill and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Knowledge of procedural requirements and ethical standards for the follow-up of overdue accounts Knowledge of credit and collection principles, processes, regulations, and standards Ability to foster a cooperative work environment Maintain confidentiality of all patient information Assure that the patient's rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
Reports to Administrator Job Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Develops and establishes policies and objectives consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient operations.

Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance 3.
Develops and implements mechanisms and controls to ensure appropriate billing payment cycles, accurate, timely billing, in accordance with established internal and third party payer requirements, and within state and federal guidelines 4.
Establishes and implements appropriate billing procedures for follow-up on third party approvals and collection.

Maintains appropriate internal controls over accounts receivables/cash receipts, and monitors charge posting, billing, and collection operations for compliance and established policies, regulations, procedures, and standards.

Establishes fees for technical and/or professional services, as appropriate, in accordance with state and federal guidelines and parameters.

Makes sure that patients are being properly billed with statements on a weekly basis 8.
Reviews medical records and resolves problems concerning the recording or provision of services rendered which impact on ability to collect charges and/or the willingness of patients to pay as required 9.
Confers with patients or patient representatives and administrator regarding delinquent accounts, and determines appropriate action, to include special adjustments, and/or write-offs 10.
Prepares and maintains required records, files, and reports on billing and collection activities 11.
Monitor and collect accounts receivables.
Report delinquent accounts to the administrator 12.
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements to include preparing monthly balance sheets, income reports, etc.

Assist in reconciling and reporting every FYE 14.
Assist with cost report by providing proper reports 15.
Develop and utilize computer reports and output 16.
Assist in preparing and implementation of changes in our accounting system as necessary or directed.
